Dagupan Solar Energy Project
Location: Barangay Sta. Barbara, Province of Pangasinan
The Dagupan Solar Energy Project was initiated by Dagupan Electric Corporation (DECORP) to provide additional capacity to their network. It is a bilateral arrangement and the tariff rate as well as the terms and conditions of the electricity supply agreement are currently being reviewed by the Energy Regulatory Commission.
Developed under the auspices of SunAsia Energy, the Dagupan Solar Project is located in Barangay Sta. Barbara, Province of Pangasinan. The site is located 220 km north of Manila and is easily accessible via the Luzon Expressway and provincial roads. The proposed site terrain is flat in nature and was previously used for corn farming. The identified land area is approximately 28.5 hectares in size.
The town of Sta Barbara is considered as one of the richest in solar resources receiving an average inclined solar radiation of 1960 kWh/m2 /year (with panels tilted at 15 degrees). With juwi as the EPC partner, the project is expected to break ground in the 3rd quarter of the 2016 and start commercial operation date in the 2nd quarter of 2017.
