2 MW Solar PV facility
Location: Barangay San Vicente, Sumilao, Bukidnon
The Department of Energy has pronounced that the Mindanao power supply remains to be critical with not enough reserve capacity. With this power crisis, the electric cooperative implemented rotational brown out in times of power deficiency. This situation has made the Bukidnon Second Electric Cooperative (BUSECO) to look for additional supply agreement that will augment its present supply needs to meet the growing load requirement.
In order to guarantee the consumer reliable power supply, BUSECO and SunAsia Energy Inc. have entered into an Electricity Supply Agreement (ESA) to address BUSECO’s current and future demand requirements.
SunAsia has proposed a solar photovoltaic ground-mounted 2 MWp Solar PV facility to be installed in Barangay San Vicente, Sumilao, Bukidnon with the connection point at the Sumilao Substation. The proposed technology to be used is the direct conversion of sunlight to electricity or the photovoltaic (PV) technology. The solar PV power plant will be composed of the Solar PV Panels, Inverters, Mounting frames, electrical interconnection system and other monitoring equipments.
The BUSECO as the project off-taker has been rated by the National Electrification Administration as triple A standing that made it to the top ten performing electric cooperative in the Philippines.
