Toledo Solar PV Project
Location:Toledo City, Province of Cebu
Toledo Solar co-locates their large scale ground-mounted PV Solar Plant with their present livestock operations. Under the guidance of agriculture experts from the University of the Philippines in Los Banos, this Solar Project was designed and engineered to preserve its current land use. The modules are raised adequately off the ground to allow small animals to roam the solar grazing area and take shelter underneath the panels for protection from adverse weather. Coconut trees remain as field boundaries and grass are cultivated in the open spaces and underneath the panels to supplement the food requirements for the animal population. Existing waterways will continue to provide the drinking needs of the big animals.
Effectively, only 35 percent of the pasture land contain panels and infrastructure. The rest of the land remains the home and grazing areas of the existing cattle, carabao, goat and chicken population
